Moose Jaw Opening Round.. 360 entries Sets a record !  Photos

Racing action was hot in all classes. With a huge turnout from Manitoba and Alberta, the Moose Jaw track was under attack!   BRUCE PROCHNAVY cleaned house on his Supercycle Suzuki's by winning 6 out of 6 motos in the Pro classes.

The Track 'n Trail Club made excellent changes and upgrades to this years the Sand Monster track. Everyone who ever races here gain a new meaning to the word MOTOCROSS. This is probably the roughest all natural track in Canada. Mother nature kept the dust to a minimum with almost enough moisture this past week. Calgary's Bruce Prochnavy claimed that this track is tougher and rougher than any on the 2004 CMRC National series !

Regina Sept 12th    Click here for Photos

Track conditions were good for 1/3rd of the day then the hard pack blue groove showed up fast.  Home town boy Dustin Pretty cleaned house in the Pro ranks.  Good battles in the Intermediate classes too.  A large contingent of 60 and 80cc riders made for an almost full gate in every moto.  The 50 racing was JUST okay on a track that SUCKED ! Regina should be ashamed of their 50 track at this race. Lack of any work for at least a year, no weed cutting or grooming or watering.  Hey CLUBS, the 50 riders are the future of our sport! Lets keep it good for them and maybe rider attendance will keep increasing ! Only a few years ago it was easily the BEST 50cc Track in the province, now probably the worst !

Yorkton Aug 22nd.    Click here for Photos

Yorkton hosted a great day of racing. Track was upgraded with a few new berms, jumps and whoops. Rain on Saturday and club member watering kept dust to a minimum and traction for the better most of the day.  Supercycle's Bruce Prochnavy stopped by on his return from the CMRC PRO National tour that concluded in Walton last weekend. He finished with a #30 plate for 2005.  Congratulation ! Bruce won the Youth and Pro 125 class today. Broc Shury returned to the front after battling a  2 month illness. He won both 250 Intermediate motos with come from behind starts due to hitting the gate. He placed 2nd in both 125 motos to Danial Matheson. Their second moto dicing was great to watch with Broc unable to pass Danial the entire moto. It came down to a bike length at the finish.  See you in Regina !

Swift Current Aug 15th.   Click here for Photos

Swift Current club members prepped the track well considering the temperature and type of soil. Great racing between Dustin Pretty and Rob Malinowski. Man were they flying... Hometown boy Shawn Maffenbeier cleaned house in Supermini and the 80cc motos. Following in second was Butch Bahm in both classes.  Great action in the 50cc 7-8 class, with Rylan Evans taking home his first ever 1st Place trophy in the class in Saskatchewan.   Check out all the photos.

One word describes the race "DUST". Very hot temperatures baked the track into hard pack adobe !  Not much more needs to be said.  Many injuries resulted from the conditions. Racing in the Pro 125 class was very close with Cody Rouse and Jarrod Johnsgaard staying within a bike length or 2 of each other through the day. Check out their photos.  80 cc racing was pretty good too. Butch Bahm came away victorious in 4 motos after hard fought battles with Jorde Anderson.  Denaye Giroux came away the winner in the 13-16 80cc Class.

Regina Pro Nationals    Click here for Photos

Regina's Pro event was a success for most of the Supercycle boys except myself. Bruce Prochnavy placed 11th overall after a 9th and a 12th finish. Kevin Humeny finished 19th after a great 3rd place start in moto #2.  Dustin Van Bergen places just out of the points in Moto#1 with a solid ride. Broc Shury missed qualifying by one position. He nearly got the holeshot in the his qualifier with Colton Faciotti. Broc hit the brakes at the first set of bails to soon realize that he should have went to the second set when just about everyone passed him due this brain fart, He rebounded to pass up to 19th place. Missing by one place.  Danny Matheson qualified with a solid ride.

My PRO RETURN ended Saturday when I broke my left Fibula in the second practice I rode a fast lap keeping up #3 Deker, then coming down the hill from "Blair Morgan Corner"  I caught my toe in a deep "G OUT" rut that wrenched my foot under and backward on the foot peg sending me into a "NAC NAC" over the next jump. Upon landing and placing my foot back on the peg I felt a sharp biting pain. I finally made it to the hospital Sunday night in Saskatoon, Then by noon Monday I gained some hardware.. 7 screws and a 3" plate.  Don't ask about crutches OKAY !   Just Check out the photos !

Battlefords Supercycle's sponsored rider "Bruce Prochnavy" from Calgary made an early arrival for the Regina National by taking on Sask Hotshot Dustin Pretty.  Bruce won all 6 motos. Capturing wins in Pro 125, Pro 250, and the Youth classes. Cashing in big on Suzuki Contingency too !

Calgary Pro National Report.  Click here for Photos

Saskatchewan Boys had a tough weekend in Calgary.  Dustin Pretty, Kevin Humeny and Kyle Murphy all qualified for the 125 Pro class.  Broc Shury missed the cut by a couple positions after a much tougher qualifier that the other 3 Sask riders.   JSR showed everyone why he is #1. Battlefords Supercycle sponsored John Dowd placed 2nd in Pro 250.   More to come !  Check out the photos..

Kerrobert June 20th.   Click here for Photos

Rain or Dust, that is the Question?? Well, unfortunately the excess moisture that postponed the Kerrobert race last weekend until today, made for a pretty hard packed and dusty track at days end! Over 225 entries made their laps on the fast and fun track. Much appreciation and Thanks must be given the Bahm Family for all their efforts to prep a track, or try too while mother nature was at work.

May 30th Wet Weyburn.  Click here for Photos

With Mother nature dumping mega amount of water for most of the week, The Weyburn club did an awesome job of track prep. For a sand track, it was hard to believe there could be "SOUPY" areas, but there was !  First motos were very interesting, with many riders taking a soil sample in a few soupy corners.

Pro Action was great !  Supercycle Pro Carey Daku Holeshot the first Pro 250 only to succumb to the SOUP a few laps in.  Manitoba Rider Michael Harms gave Sask Champ Dustin Pretty everything he could.  Swapping positions several time through out the day.

Supercycle Hotshot Broc Shury  walked away with the first Intermediate 250 moto, only to sprain a wrist in his first Int 125 moto. Some taping to the wrist from dad,  Broc finished 2nd by only inches at the finish for 2nd Overall in Intermediate 250 after painfully checking out his wrist for strength and durability only to almost win  . Int 125 he saved his points lead finishing in 3rd.   Brother Jared Shury finished a distant 2nd in the 7-12 85cc Class to Shawn Maffenbeier.  MISSING IN ACTION is double fractured leg victim Jach Deiena. Best wishes from all for a speedy recovery. Also with a broken leg is Cameron Boyd. Missing for personal reasons "Butch" Kennedy Bahm,  who will be ready to take on the boys at his home race next June 13th in Kerrobert!  Check out the photo link above !

May 16th Kindersley   Click here for Photos

Back to some dust after a rain/snow out one week ago !   Sun and wind quickly turned the well prepped track into the usually fast, and hard to pass track. Thankfully the Kindersley club members put down 100,000 plus gallons of water over the last few days..  Great rider turn out  again indicates the strength of Motocross in Saskatchewan.  50cc riders entries were huge. Check out all their photos. I hope I didn't miss anyone.

May 9 Race Swift Current Postponed until Aug 15th

Winter like cold, rain and snow caused the event to be postponed. All entries taken will be kept on file and used for the August 15th date.  Entry fees will be refunded at that time if you do not attend.  Please contact the Swift Current Club for details.  More information will be handed out at Kindersley this coming weekend.

May 2 N.Battleford Race    Click here for Photos

Nearly 300 rider entries were received at the opening round.  It was great to see a large contingent in the 50, 65 and 85cc classes.  Click the RED link above for photos from the event.  In his first race as an Intermediate, local rider Broc Shury showed that he could ride with the Pro's.  He gave the Pros a taste of the future. He finished 2rd in the moto #1 behind 03 250 Pro Champ Robbie Malinoski.  Carey Daku and Kevin Humeny  both had great rides but minor errors cost each valuable points.  Dustin Vanbergen won the Intermediate 250 Overall, Kennedy Bahm took home 1 st overall in Supermini, and 2nd in 85cc.  Shawn Maffenbeier took the 85cc win.  Jared Shury placed 4th in 80cc at his first race on an 85.  Many Thanks to Scott USA for the prizes given out at the event.
